Life is precious, and the only way to truly live is to live in the present. In this episode Shveitta helps us switch off our "auto-pilot" mode and cultivate self-awareness. Tips for heightening our mindfulness of our everyday lives include:
- Think about what you are doing and what you will do next the moment you step out of bed in the morning.
- Each night, keep a journal and record what you did each day before going to bed.
- Persevere with meditation and watching your thoughts, even if it's only 3 minutes a day.
At 21:00, Shveitta approaches the profound subject of death with compassion and clarity, arguing that we need to live every moment as if it is our last moment. Not only will there come a moment that really is our last, but living each moment as if it is already so will deepen drastically our appreciation for life, sharpen our mindfulness, and help us in our relationships by making it easier to remove resentments or let go of grudges or past hurt.
