Pasan is a Mechanical Engineer and a passionate Roboticist. His Robotics’ journey started at Carnegie Mellon University in 1991 where he was a part of CMU’s Robotics Institute (RI) team that designed a shape-shifting, track type robot for the Department of Energy (DOE) that went down underground to clean up the nuclear waste tank. His graduate work at UC Berkeley involved with the foot force sensing mechanism of the first prototype of a robotic exoskeleton suit that is now SuitX. His doctoral work at KMUTT focuses on the energy optimum running gait for the bipedal robot. His current work is on designing and integrating mobile robots for the outdoor/indoor environment including autonomous vehicle (AV). He is currently a member of the NSTDA’s autonomous feeder project.
