Carol O’Halloran is a fitness pioneer who has brought fitness to the everyday lives of Australians and New Zealanders. Her passion for fitness has resulted in over 27 years experience in the industry working in 9 countries training hundreds of fitness instructors. She has taught thousands of people face to face. For over 10 years, Carol specialised in gentle exercise for overweight, unfit and older persons.
In 1981, Carol produced the first Jazzercise record in New Zealand, which sold over 30,000 copies in less than a year, becoming a 'gold' record.
In Australia, Carol worked extensively as a health and fitness consultant for various government bodies and is a well known TV presenter for home fitness products. She designed and implemented a ‘Fresh Start to Life’ franchise program as part of the Life. Be in it campaign. She has been a consultant for the Department of Health’s Senior Adult Unit (where she created Keep The Bounce In Your Step) and the Department of Sport and Recreation.
Carol developed and hosted the Slender Secrets Weight Loss Program, a home program that included two gentle exercise videos, four audio-cassettes and workbook which also aired throughout Australia and New Zealand on major television networks. She authored the book Five Minute Fitness which showed readers ways to easily incorporate exercise in their lives. She introduced the total body toner exercise equipment Dyna-Band to Australia as well as produced an accompanying Dyna-Band exercise video. In 1990 Carol was named NSW Fitness Leader of the Year.
Carol is the Director of Fitness Company International which provided products throughout Australia and New Zealand. She is also a professional speaker, MC and TV presenter. Her book Alive and Kicking- the secrets of energy and vitality as told by Australian legends, sold over 11,000 copies, and she presented a one hour motivational ‘Health for Seniors’ DVD with 10,000 copies going nationwide.
