Ben Richardson is an international speaker, and technology leader with a passion for bleeding-edge technologies including Healthtech (particularly mental health), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV), and Aerospace Technology.
Currently Ben has founded a Startup Lab / Venture Studio called Equinox Labs which is experimenting with a variety of solutions including using AI to diagnose early stage neurological disorders, COVID-19 contact tracing (https://covidcomply.org) for governments and business, and a variety of other areas.
Recently Ben commanded an eight-figure budget as the CTO of Innowell, one of the world’s most progressive organisations in the mental health sector with the backing of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), The University of Sydney, and the Federal Government (Malcolm Turnbull and Greg Hunt) via a $33m commitment.
At Innowell, Ben built a large product development group, was responsible for Innowell’s technology / product strategy and roadmap, reported to the board of directors and risk committee, and met key leaders including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to discuss the opportunities that technology can bring to the mental health sector.
Prior to Innowell, Ben built a 12-person strong product development group in PwC that self-disrupted the organisation by automating the delivery of PwC’s expertise at scale via web & mobile SaaS products. Ben’s products are renowned across the global PwC network and have received both internal and external accolades.
Being an avid entrepreneur, Ben has founded a variety of companies, has experienced first hand both extremes of success and failure and along the way has successfully raised capital, exited a two businesses via acquisitions, and received public recognition including creating a startup that ranked top 10 in Australian nationally in 2013.
Ben graduated with honours in Aerospace Engineering from RMIT University in Melbourne.
