I've been working on standards and open source development for over 25 years, both as a staff member of standards development organizations (SDO) such as W3C and the X Consortium, as well as a representative for IBM. I've been involved in every aspect of the open technology development process: technical, strategic, political, and legal. I was editor of several key web standards including HTML4 and DOM, and participated in the development of XML. I've also been involved in open source projects, such as Xerces, the Apache XML parser. I actually did open source even before the name was coined and released in the 1990 (via FTP mind you) the XPM library which is still in use today. I'm now focusing on the Hyperledger Project.
