Alison has 18 years experience growing and managing teams around the world, including design teams at Orange in the UK/France plus Westpac and Meld Studios in Australia.
As General Manager of Meld Studios, Alison oversees all areas the business—from defining its purpose, goals and strategy to forecasting its financial health and designing staff and studio experience. She uses a collaborative and iterative approach for all of this, positioning Meld Studios as a live prototype to test progressive approaches to organisation design.
Alison identifies as a Maori woman from Te Whanau-a-Apanui tribe on the East Coast of New Zealand and actively designs for equality in the workplace.
Alison would love to connect, share stories or provide formal mentoring to people who have a similar role, whether that’s building an in-house team or running an agency. Ask her about trying to have more influence in an organisation; securing budgets; embedding design approaches; scaling teams in a way that is sustainable and maintains culture and quality; motivating and training staff; or have staff move on to other opportunities. If these are hot topics for you, message Alison at [email protected] to talk more.
