Adam Dent was appointed to the statutory office of Chief Executive Officer of NSW Trustee and Guardian in January 2018.
Adam is an accomplished chief executive and transformational change leader with substantial experience in people leadership, business improvement and change in government, the public sector and non-profit organisations. He is a strategic leader who builds strong, positive and sustainable relationships with stakeholders and clients.
Adam is an experienced crisis manager and offers insight into leading and managing people in some of the most challenging circumstances. Adam has led national and state-wide responses to natural disasters including the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires, Cyclone Yasi and the 2015 Hunter Valley storms. He has led organisations through substantial restructures and reforms with a focus on improving culture, diversity and business results.
Adam is an authentic leader with a strong ethical and social conscience having spent most of his career in organisations focused on helping people, particularly those who are vulnerable or experiencing difficult times. He now leads the NSW Trustee and Guardian, supporting a dedicated staff who assist NSW people to plan ahead through making wills, power of attorney and enduring guardianship arrangements so their rights and wishes are properly documented and respected. The NSW Trustee and Guardian is an independent and impartial executor, administrator, attorney and trustee. It also provides financial management and guardianship services, including for people who have a disability that affects their capacity to make decisions.
As CEO of the NSW Trustee & Guardian, Adam supports over 35,000 customers annually and manages in excess of $6bn in client assets with a team of approximately 620 staff in 14 offices.
